The children have explored the flour, rice, pasta and glitter in the messy tray by running it through their fingers. Some of the children put the mixture into a jug and carried it around the room.
Two of the children copied making marks with the flour after they were shown by an adult. They did this using their fingers or with a spoon.
The children decided to put some of the flour and glitter mixture on the floor and pushed it around with their shoes.
This activity helps the children to learn about different ways of making marks with different materials, it also encourages the children to explore different textures.
This comes under two of the six areas, creative development and PSRN (Problem Solving).
To help the children to make their family books next week we would be grateful to have a few pictures.
