This week in the Cuddly Cubs....

Firstly we would like to take the time to welcome Kirsty into the room, who is taking over from Abi’s former key workers; Abi seems to be settling in well in the pups and having a good first week.

We have had a change to some of our display boards as you will see when entering the room.  There is now a key person boards were you will find the image of your child’s key person, the name of the children in that day and the name of the children away that day. By the end of the day this key person board will hold an example of something that your child has done that day; this can range from an observation to a piece of artwork that they have done , it will also display a picture of your child to make it easier to find it.

We take this as an opportunity to remind you that you are more than welcome to come into the room at the end of the day to have a look at what your child has done that day.

We will also be introducing something new to the children at nursery and this is ‘Their Journals’.   he idea is to allow the children to look back at their own creations and pictures and showing a response, the response made by your child will be recorded and visible at the key person’s displays board. Also just a remainder to you as well please feel free to take your child’s ‘Learning Journal’ home each month. Kindly inform  your key person.

We have in the Cuddly Cubs our very own dog named ’Scruffy’. Scruffy will be joining you at some point on a weekend and spend a very exciting weekend at home with you and your child. We have a book that scruffy like’s to bring with him, this book provides pictures and a story that other children have recorded after spending an exciting weekend with him.

Finally ,Thank you to all who have brought photos for your child’s ‘Family books’ but there are still some children that don’t have one, we cannot stress enough the importance of family books. Family books are a great way to settle your child into the nursery; it can give them a sense of security and enjoyment at visiting the family while at nursery.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend

Shirley, Leanna and Kirsty
