The car park

by Christabelle 12. February 2010 13:21

We’ve had a few complaints with regard to the spaces in the car park as parents are not sure where to park when dropping their children especially in the morning. Well actually the car park belongs to the school and they kindly let us use it, so we need to be more considerate when parking out there.

Kindly DO NOT park  your cars in the following areas

1.    On a ‘Keep Clear’ area in front of the metal gates.  Please can parents stop parking here as it is an emergency exit and must be kept clear at all times.

2.    in the spaces marked ‘Sch’ (school)

The best places to park  are indicated in the map attached.

On another note some of our parents cycle or bring their children in buggies and cars are parked in the low curbed area near the nursery entrance making it difficult for parents to bring their children to the nursery (the area is indicated in purple).

  Look forward to your co-operation.

I was dismayed today to see people parking in the Keep Clear area despite there being an empty car park. This happened in the morning and evening. This is ignorant; we have been provided with parking spaces, let's use them before the privilege is taken away.

I agree that people should not park in the areas clearly marked Keep Clear.  I don't think this post should have been allowed as you should not call people ignorant, it creates a negative reaction.
I would like to know why cones were put in the car park this week?  What was the objective?  No work has been done to the surface.

I guess I must be one of those ignorant people, however it has been unintentional. I mistakenly thought that the emergency exit is for the school so when it's the holidays or during the evenings then that's why I have still parked there. However after reading this I will no longer park there.

Also I don't look at the blogs that often so there may be other people who won't have picked this up.

There was some work done to the surface in the car park. Don't know if you were aware but there were a few potholes after the snow and hence the cones were out there. They have now been removed.

I have to admit I have been known to park outside the nursery next to the bin store area however only tend to do so if I happen to be dropping off at school opening times, the objective being that I don't block access to the exit road like some of the school parents appear to.
